ROCK, Mich. -- James "Jim" L. Paulin, 80, Rock, MI, passed away on Monday July 21, 2026 at UP Health System in Marquette, MI. He was born on January 31, 1946 in Escanaba, son of the late Lester and Helen (Jolicoeur) Paulin.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Holy Name High School and then served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Mead Paper retiring in 2005. Jim enjoyed living in his log cabin he built, also loved being in the outdoors, hunting and restoring classic cars, especially his 1955 Buick and his Model A. Above all, Jim loved spending time and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by four children: Kenneth Paulin, Brian Paulin, Marcie (Tom) Berthiaume and Jamie (Tom) Tomac, six grandchildren: Corey, Katia, Andrea, Brianna, Trevor and Aaron, Seven great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Braedyn, Asher, Kellin, Jordan, Emmitt, Dax and Cruiz, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Vivian Willette and his second wife: Karen Miller, a step-daughter: Laura VanMarter, siblings: Don Paulin, Eleanor Haas and Marlene Deneau and a grandson: Brandon Paulin.
In keeping with James wishes, there will be no public services. Inurnment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
