GLADSTONE -- Connie Sue Young, age 64, of Gladstone, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Connie was born on October 2, 1961, in Escanaba, Michigan, to John and Elaine (LaLonde) Storch. On May 7, 1983, she married the love of her life, Michael Young, beginning a marriage that would span many years.
Connie worked as the head cook at Cameron Elementary School in Gladstone for 27 years. She took great pride in her work and especially enjoyed the relationships she built with the students, who held a special place in her heart.
Connie loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, camping, and riding in the Ranger. She especially loved spending time at their camp, where she made countless cherished memories with family and friends. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she delighted in celebrating it each year. She was also well known for her famous homemade spaghetti sauce.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Young; her son, Joshua Young; her daughter, Tanya (Jeff) Amann; her brother, Charles Storch; her sister, Betty Aho; five cherished grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elaine Storch; her brothers, Jim, Bill, Fred, and Bob Storch; her sister, Sally Williams; and her parents-in-law, Willard and Mary Young.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26th from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.at the White Birch Tavern in Flat Rock.
