Cheryl L. Micheau
ESCANABA — Cheryl Lynn Micheau, age 79, of Escanaba passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born May 2, 1947 in Escanaba and was the daughter of Ernest and Wilda (Bennett) Keinonen. Cheryl was a majorette in the high school band and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1965. She lived in Rapid River raising her two children Tammy and Terry. Cheryl was employed in the housekeeping department at the House of Ludington in Escanaba and later owned and operated the Right Bower Motel in Rapid River. She moved to Sagola, MI and worked at the Sagola Mobile Mart. In 2006 she moved to Louisiana. In 2020 Cheryl moved to Escanaba. She enjoyed reading, quilting, putting puzzles together and she was extremely talented in hanging wall paper.
Cheryl is survived by daughter Tammy (David) Lesnieski of Escanaba; son Terry Micheau of Escanaba; two grandchildren Travis Micheau and Jon Lesnieski; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother Ernest Keinonen, Jr.
Graveside funeral services for Cheryl Micheau will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Gardens of Rest Cemetery with Rev. Lily Brondyke officiating.
