Darrell Ingebrigtsen
ESCANABA — Darrell Lee Ingebrigtsen, 67, of Escanaba, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Born on April 14, 1959, in Escanaba, Darrell was one of seven sons born to Iver and Virginia (Larson) Ingebrigtsen. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1977 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Following his military service, he worked at Bink’s Coca-Cola and attended Bay de Noc Community College. Darrell traveled throughout the country, working in Arkansas, Texas, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin rebuilding steel mills. In 1990, he returned home to Escanaba, where he began a long career with the Chicago & North Western Railroad. A dedicated and hardworking man, he worked as a track welder and also loaded boats at the ore dock before retiring in 2013. Retirement, however, did not slow him down. always enjoying staying active and productive.
Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Darrell could bring a smile to those around him. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who were among the greatest joys of his life. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he found peace and happiness in nature and treasured the many adventures he shared with family and friends.
Darrell is survived by his daughter, Audrey (Kevin) Marenger of Escanaba; his son, Darren (Renee) Ingebrigtsen of Cleveland, Texas; four beloved grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Olivia, and Sadie; his stepdaughter, Krista (Kevin) Walkey of Escanaba; step-grandchildren Kendra, Whitney, and Dani; brother, Dean (Lisa) Ingebrigtsen, both of Escanaba; sister-in-law Gloria and Rhonda ; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David, Donald, Dennis, Dale and Dwayne.
In accordance with Darrell’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. The family is being assisted by Anderson Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net
