William Micheau

GOOSNECK LAKE, MI — William “Bill” L. Micheau, age 82 of Gooseneck Lake, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026.

Bill was born on March 31, 1944, in Escanaba, the son of Joseph A. and Mary Lou (Huff) Micheau. Bill served in the United States Airforce from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Bill was a hard worker and very proud of his excavating business. If he wasn’t plowing in the winter he was excavating in the summer. He owned the Micheau Mobile Gas Station in Rapid River, C & B Trucking in Rapid River. He also took pride in his family whom he loved. His favorite thing was taking pontoon rides with friends and family around the lake.

Bill was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and Detroit Tiger fan. He also enjoyed going and supporting local basketball games in the community. He played throughout his high school years. Bill also enjoyed the 4th of July and putting on huge firework displays.

Bill was loved by many, but also a force to be reckoned with. He was known for his love and stubbornness. He never minced words and always said it like it was.

Daughter: Amy (Russ Geurtin) Micheau

Life long companion: Oleda Alvey

2 Brother: Jim (Pam) Micheau and Dan (Marilyn) Micheau

Step Sons: Duane (Barb) Robitaille and Jeff Robitaille

Grandchildren: Kaitlyne and Vincent Micheau, Zachary, Hannah and Cassidy Micheau. Many Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

And close friend Scott Meyer, who worked alongside Bill.

In addition to his Parents, Bill is preceded in death by Son, Craig Micheau

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military honors will be presented at 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home by the Rapid River American Legion. Bill will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Micheau family.
