Rebecca Papaik

Rebecca (Becky) Stade Papaik, 71, passed away peacefully at her winter home in Palm Valley, Texas on April 4, 2026. Becky is at peace after years of pain and complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Becky was born in Gladstone, Michigan on April 22, 1954 to the late Glen and Earladine (Ward) Stade. She is survived by her husband, Rudolph (Rudy) Papaik, to whom she was united in marriage with on October 1, 1977.

Becky was a fun-loving goofy person. She was very creative, and an excellent seamstress. She scavenged and beautifully refinished antique furniture.

Becky was a competitor in all aspects of her life. She was equally gracious in winning or losing.

If you knew Becky, you knew that her true passion was golf. Her drive was straight and steady, with a short game that most would envy. She loved the pressure. She loved the competition and comradery. There wasn’t a day that she came home from a game of golf that she wasn’t smiling. Becky won club championships in 4 states and represented the state of Maine in a National Amateur Tournament. A very special week each year for Becky was The UP Women’s Championship.

Becky put the needs of her family first at all times. She was strong in her beliefs and her love was fierce for those who were in her world. Her love, honesty, and support fostered a warm and healthy home. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

Becky was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Stade, Thomas Stade, and Scott Stade. Surviving sister Maxine (Raino) Maki and Sister-In-Law Susan Stade. Surviving children Adam Papaik, Sara Papaik, and granddaughter Sage Papaik.

A celebration of life will be announced and held when the weather is warmer.
