Patrick Rudden
GLADSTONE — Patrick “Pat” Emette Rudden, 75, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Born on October 23, 1950, in Escanaba, Michigan, Pat was the son of Patrick and Theresa (Viau) Rudden. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1969 and continued his education at Bay de Noc College and the University of Maryland. Later on earning his Masters degree as an electrician. Pat proudly served in the U.S. Army from June 1970 through December 1971.
Following his military service, Pat spent many years working as a maintenance electrician at Mead Paper Company. He was an active member of the Elks, Moose, and Lions Club organizations. Pat enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially mountain biking, canoeing, ice skating, and skiing. One of his proudest adventures was canoeing from Lake Superior to the Lake Michigan inlet. He also dedicated many years to coaching baseball, hockey, and wrestling in Escanaba. Above all else, Pat treasured time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Pat is survived by his children, Bradley Rudden, Kevin (Alisha) Rudden, Stephanie (Ben) Czappa, and Rachelle DeVos; grandchildren Marcus, Kayla, Whitney, Lilly, Zebediah, Charlie Jo, Zachary Rudden, Ruth, and Audrey DeVos; great-grandson Mitchel James Deel lll ; siblings Dennis, Dave, Ronald (Mary), and Mark (Lori) Rudden, Joan (Charles) Edwards, Ann Larson, and Chris (Steve) Harris; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mike Rudden, Mary Hubert, and Kathy (Bob) Shriber.
Family and friends may gather on Saturday, May 16, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military honors will be presented at 2:45 p.m., followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Markwell will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Escanaba Elks Lodge. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba.
