Megan Jackson
Megan Rose Jackson, age 22, of Escanaba, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home.
Born in Escanaba to Janice (Burnard) and Scott Jackson on August 22, 2003. Megan was a proud 2022 graduate of Escanaba High School and continued her education at Bay de Noc Community College. During her school years, she was known for her outgoing spirit and bright energy, especially as a cheerleader who brought enthusiasm and encouragement to those around her.
Megan had a heart for caring for others and was employed as a resident care worker at Helping Hands Adult Foster Care Home in Escanaba. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and radiant smile had a way of lifting the room and making people feel seen and valued. She had a special love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Willow. Megan cherished time spent with her friends and family, whether it was gathering together, sharing laughs, or simply enjoying life’s little moments.
She is survived by her mother, Janice; her boyfriend, Justin Mathieson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members, including Kelly Johnston (Jackson); Todd Jackson; Richard Jackson; Great Aunt Debbie; Kimberly Coerper; Christin Baez, Carolyn Burnard, Pam Kuske, and Michael Burnard.
Megan was preceded in death by her father, Scott Jackson; her paternal grandparents, Ron and Betty Jackson; and her maternal grandparents, Joanne and Richard Burnard.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. A celebration of Megan’s life will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Janich of New Life Assembly of God Church officiating.
