Marie LaRose

Marie was born November 19, 1931 in Newberry, Michigan, the daughter of Jule and Madeline (Burr) LaRose. She was raised by her paternal grandmother until the age of 8 and then by the only mother she truly knew, Regina LaRose. She graduated from the Marquette High School in 1978. Marie was a member of All Saints Catholic Church for over 40 years and was devoted to saying the Rosary everyday. She loved spending time with her family especially the grandchildren and often attended many of their events. She was a CNA at Pinecrest then St. Francis Hospital, she also did private geriatric care and then went on to work for St. Vincent De Paul in Gladstone for 23 years. She she really loved her job there and the public loved her. She also loved to dance and listen to music.

Marie is survived by her children, Steve (Lynn) LaFave, William (Debi) LaRose, Mark LaFave, Lori LaRose and Gina (Jeff) Vandeville; grandchildren, Collin (Elise) LaFave, Craig (Laurie) LaRose, Erik LaFave, Dustin Burkman, Allison Verbrigghe and Derek (Melinda) Verbrigghe; step-grandchildren Brianne (Derek) Neuman, Jace (Olie) Vandeville and Kyle (Veronica) Vandeville; great grandchildren Oskar, Theodore and Cedric LaFave ; step-great grandchild Braxton Borchert; sisters, Arlene King, Vicky (Joe) Dementer and Judy Redstrom; sister-in-law, Linda Groleau; nieces and nephews, also special friends Clara Kleeman, Carolyn Moulds, Caren West and Jim, Shirley Goodrick, people at Waterview Apartments, many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joe (Theresa), Bob (Ann), George, David (Ann) and Leonard, sisters Marge (Eugene) Groleau, Leona (Ron) Bacon, Irene (Bob) Krouth, Andrea (Quinton) Way, brother-in-law Ed King and Andy, son-in-law Dale Verbrigghe, daughter-in-law Ashley Arnold, great-grandson Calvin Dale Verbrigghe and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Fr. Marty Flynn officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Marie will be laid to rest in the Trenary Cemetery.
