Margaret Grobe
Margaret Ruth “Ruthie” “Maggie” “Aunt Dickie” Grobe, age 90, of Rapid River passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Margaret was born November 1, 1935 in Rapid River the daughter of Robert and Arlene (Hamilton) Murchie. She was united in marriage to Lauren V. Grobe on December 11, 1954 at the Congregational Church in Rapid River. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River and was active with the choir and luncheons. She loved cooking and feeding everybody. She was known for her 5 cheese Mac and Cheese and homemade cinnamon rolls. She loved gardening and took pride in keeping a lovely home. She was fun loving, active and enjoyed playing Scrabble and Smeer. She was a real competitor, always out to win. She loved children and kept a drawer of coloring books, crayons, Old Maid cards, punch balls, jacks and of course CANDY. Her greatest love was her family, children, Jesus and her animals.
Margaret is survived by her son, Rob Grobe of Rapid River, her daughter, Shelly (Hans) Wagner of Kipling, numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends, Sharon Martinez, Deanna Dutton, Pat Anderson, Patsy O’Donnell and others.
She was preceded in death her husband, Lauren, her parents, brothers, Jack, Jim, Robert, Michael, sisters, Lois, Nancy, Carol, Mary Alice and Betty, special niece, Barbara Ware, other nieces and nephews and dear friends, Ann and Gail Thomas, Monica Johnson, Milly Stenlund, Rita Lindquist, Alice Lundberg, Jim and Nancy Johnson and others.
According to Margaret’s wishes, she will be cremated and will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.
