Jerry Knudson
Jerry Carlos Knudson, age 88, of Isabella passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his home in Isabella. He was born June 28, 1937, in Woodberry, OH and was the son of Carlos and Gladys (Ward) Knudson. Jerry graduated from Ida, MI High School in 1955, received his Lab Tech Degree from Elkhart University, then attended Eastern Michigan University receiving his teaching degree and then receiving his Master’s Degree from Northern Michigan University. Jerry married the former Margaret Anne Sundling on March 14, 1959 in Ypsilanti, MI, they moved to Isabella 1967 and together they raised two children, Craig and Karen. Margaret preceded him in death on March 24, 1996.
Jerry taught school in the Bark River Harris School System for many years until his retirement. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed his farm in Isabella. Raising livestock, feeding birds and working on farm equipment. He also was a avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was the #3 car driven by Dale Earnhardt.
Jerry is survived by his son Craig (Cathy) Knudson; daughter Karen (Dan) Snay; grandchildren Christine, Nick, Steve, Matt, and Natalie; great grandchild Dale; sister Judy Weisler and several nieces and nephews.
Private family funeral services and burial were held Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Rapid River Cemetery at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jim Duehring from Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Schoolcraft Homecare and Hospice.
