Thomas Doran McKie

GARLAND, TX – Thomas Doran McKie, 81, of Garland, Texas passed away on March 30, 2026. Tom will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of sports, and his dedication to his community. Tom grew up in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1963. He went to Michigan State University earning both his B.S. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation and M.A. in Education. For over four decades, Tom built a career in physical education and recreational sports working for institutions such as Oklahoma State University and the city of Dallas. Throughout his life Tom maintained a passion for football, racquetball, and softball.
