Maurice Boomer
Maurice “Morris” Boomer, age 74, of Escanaba passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Morris was born August 23, 1951 in Escanaba, the son of Gordon and Esta (Scheffer) Boomer. He graduated from the Gladstone High School. He was a welding instructor at the ISD and Bay de Noc Community College for many years. He was united in marriage to Mary Eagle on September 15, 2001 at the First Methodist Church in Escanaba. They would have been married for 25 years this September. Morris was very helpful and generous and was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching stockcar racing, four wheeling and loved his cats and dog.
Morris is survived by his wife, Mary; brother, Gary (Carol) Boomer of Detroit; step-daughters, Sherry (Wes) Wilmot of Gladstone, Tammy (Rich Beaudo) Stewart of Stephenson and Christy (Chad Irving) LaPalme of Escanaba; step-grandchildren, Zachary and Carter VanBrocklin, Toni LaPalme and Brianna and Logan Dickerson and step-great grandchildren, Zaydee and Zayden LaPalme and Archie VanBrocklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.
