Mary G. Martinson

Mary was born February 16, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Stephen and Gwendolyn (Swanson) Maziarz. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1957. On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to William Martinson.

Mary volunteered at St. Francis Hospital for more than 15 years. She also was a member of the Friends of the Gladstone Library as well as Bay Sages. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and a proud shareholder of the team. Mary also enjoyed hockey, and her favorite teams were the Detroit Red Wings, NMU Wildcats, and Escanaba Hockey.

Mary is survived by her son Robert (Lynn) Martinson; sister Ruth Anderson; grandchildren Joe Martinson and Nick Martinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Martinson; and sister Lois Nelson.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Aunt Ruthie, Cousin Lenore, OSF Cancer Clinic, Bishop Noa Home, and U.P. Health and Hospice for their loving care and support during her illness.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 P.M.
