GLADSTONE – Lawrence L. “Larry” Sopscak, 74, of Gladstone, passed away at his home on March 8, 2026. Larry was born December 8, 1951, in Grayling, MI to the late Stephan and Thelma (Knapp) Sopscak. He graduated from Gerrish Higgins High School in 1970.

He married the love of his life, Kathleen Blodgett on February 12, 1972 in Roscommon where they lived until the early 2000’s.

Larry was retired from HVAC mechanical contracting, at which he excelled. He attended Kirtland College in Roscommon, earning his Associate’s degree for his trade. His mechanical workmanship was next to none, and many customers called for his services even after his retirement.

Larry enjoyed sharing his love for Jesus with others, skiing, riding motorcycles, going for rides in the woods, fishing, hunting, camping, and playing the guitar.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sopscak of Gladstone; children, Jonathan (Cathy) Sopscak of Roscommon and Christa (Bryan) Pritchett of Saint Clair Shores; grandchildren, Jay (Katrina), Joshua, Jacob, T.J. (Vanessa), Madison (Reid), and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Hope, Mason, Arora, Kiree, Jaiden, Dean, Asuna, Rose, and Riley; close friend, Janet Wyman of Gladstone; Sister-in-law, Arlene Sopscak; and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother, David Sopscak and grandson, Joshua Pritchett.

A private family celebration of Larry’s life will take place at a later date.

The Sopscak family has entrusted Larry’s funeral arrangements to Crawford Funeral Homes.
