ESCANABA — Katherine Renee Mineau, age 68, of Escanaba, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her son’s home in Cornell, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 10, 1958, in Escanaba to Ronald and Judith (Sisco) Mineau.

Katherine graduated from Escanaba High School in 1976. Following graduation, she spent time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she worked as a bartender before returning home to Escanaba in 1980. In 1981, she welcomed her son, Nicholas, who became the center of her world. Katherine had a vibrant personality and a love for fun, which led her to the entertainment industry. She worked with Spectrum Entertainment, where she was fondly known as the “Cork Gun Queen.” She also spent many years bartending at the Eagles Club, where she made countless friendships and lasting memories.

In her free time, Katherine found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, cards, and cribbage, and cherished time spent fishing. Above all, her family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment she shared with them. She was a member of the Escanaba Eagle’s Club.

Katherine is survived by her loving son, Nicholas (Jessica) Mineau of Cornell, MI; two grandchildren, Faith and Nevaeh; her brother, Mike (Marlo) Mineau of Escanaba, MI; her sister, Lynette Denicola of Waupaca, WI; adopted daughter Fawn (Mike) Buffum and children Rielee, Maiah and Anjel Kobs; adopted great grandson Whyatt Koelbl-Maus as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Michelle Maki; her aunt, Wanda Rabitoy; and her grandmother, Ruby Winton.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Eagle Services will be conducted by the Escanaba Eagles Club at 4:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will be held at the Eagles Club in Escanaba following the service.
