GLADSTONE – Frederick A. Robinson Sr., age 83, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at home.
Fred was born on September 13, 1942, the son of Daniel and Vera (Tupper) Robinson. He attended and graduated from Gladstone Area Schools Class of 1960. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served until he was honorably discharged in 1966. He worked for a short time with Oldsmobile down in lower Michigan, but returned to his true home, the beautiful Upper Peninsula. He spent 63 years with his loving wife, Mary (Rabitoy) Robinson before she preceded him in death in February 2024.
Fred was employed at the Mead Paper Company for over 30 years. He was a supervisor on the #2 Paper Machine.
An outdoorsman at heart, Fred found great joy in hunting, fishing, and retreating to the family camp on Camp 7 Lake. These passions became a lasting legacy as he shared them with his children and grandchildren, teaching them to appreciate the beauty of nature. Above all, Fred was a family man; his greatest hobby was simply the time spent with those he loved. He was also an avid Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan.
Fred will; be deeply missed by his children, Fred (Cheri) Robinson, Earl (Aem) Robinson, Teresa (Jim) Murray, Jeff “Jay” (Jane) Robinson, Lesa (Dave Reiter) Robinson, Debbie Robinson and David (Michelle) Robinson. Further survived by numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Brother, David (Linda) Robinson, sisters, Wanda Wils, Linda Drossard, Brenda (Dennis) Chenier, Almeda Bricker
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Fred is preceded in death by: granddaughters, Kari (Gold) Enger and Mindi (Smith) Duguid, brothers, Edsel, Clay, Stafford, Raymond, and Everett Robinson and sisters, Dorothy Drossard and Catherine Alexander.
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military Honors will be presented at 12:45 PM by the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. A mass of Christian burial will follow military honors at 1:30 PM at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. A meal will follow in the parish hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Robinson family.
