Gloria Jean Wingo
ESCANABA – Gloria Jean Wingo, 77, of Escanaba, passed away at home on Saturday, February 14, 2026 while surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born on February 10, 1949 in Manistique, daughter to Lyle James and Thelma Marie (Smith) Rosebush. She attended Manistique High School and in 1990, Gloria earned an associate’s degree from Bay de Noc Community College.
For 25 years, she worked as a CNA for Christian Park Village, Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, and at the Island Resort and Casino. Gloria retired in 2007.
She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, knitting, tatting, gardening, listening to music, camping, and baking. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gloria was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and a devout member of Agape Ministries.
Among survivors include her longtime partner of 52 years, Harold Houghton; children, James (Julie) Wingo, Kristi (Brian) Beyer, and Brian (Melissa) Wingo; grandchildren, Teidra, Teonia, Amanda, Madison, Hannah, and Bryce; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Jensen, Sandra (Mike) Cournaya, Janet (Rod) Frenette, Lori (Chris) Baynton; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by brothers, Larry and James Rosebush; and sister, Kathy Ozanich.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all staff at Northwoods Home Hospice for their compassionate care for Gloria and her family, along with Pastor Art Kievit of Agape Ministries Church for his support in this difficult time.
