Mike Anderson

Mike was born on June 9, 1951 in Escanaba, son to James Andrew and Phyllis Marie (Spade) Anderson. He attended Holy Name High School and graduated in 1969. He then studied at Northern Michigan University and graduated in 1973.

He worked at the family business, Anderson Gamble Store, in Bark River for many years. He then transitioned to work at Bero Motors, in Escanaba, as a sales associate, and was with Bero Motor Company until it became Riverside Chevy & GMC. After 35 years, Mike gained a large following of people who would come from all over to purchase cars from him. He retired in December of 2019.

In recent years, he loved going to church at the Ford River Community Chapel and watching old shows on tv.

Among survivors include his children, Brad (Ashley) Anderson and Michael (Jodi) Anderson; grandchildren, Marissa, Brady, Sawyer, and Collyns Anderson; siblings, Doug Anderson, Lynn Anderson Bixler, and Greg Anderson; niece and nephews, McKenzie Bixler, Jacob Anderson, and Chase Anderson; along with many cousins.

Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a brother, Scott Anderson; nephew, Dakota Bixler; and grandparents, Alfred and Evelyn Anderson and Harvey and Dorothy Spade.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 1236 Old US 2 & 41, Bark River, from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Jay Gilchrist officiating.
