Lois J. Holm
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Lois J. Holm, age 89, passed away Saturday morning, January 3, 2026, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.
She was born May 2, 1936, and was the daughter of Henry and Georgina (Williamson) Soderstrom. She was the first born of four siblings and raised on the family farm in Perkins, MI, and a 1954 graduate of Perkins high school.
After high school, she took a short working adventure to Chicago to get a taste of the city, then moved back to Gladstone and married Jack (John) Holm. Together they raised their three sons, Jay, Jody, and Jerry. Lois and Jack’s marriage ended after 24 years and in 1984, the sunshine she loved so much pulled her to New Mexico where she was able to be close to her youngest sister, Beverley. She was the Senior Customer Service Specialist at United Way of North Central New Mexico where she worked her entire career and was still currently employed…yes, at age 89.
Lois had a passion for everything good in life. She brought light to the room and a smile to everyone’s face at just the mention of her name. She loved golfing at all the courses in Albuquerque (especially the ones near casinos), taking color tour trips to Colorado with her sister Bev, and always looked forward to coming home to the U.P. to be with her family and friends.
Lois is survived by sons Jody (Cathleen) Holm and Jerry Holm; granddaughter Rachel (Othniel) Holm; Sister Beverley (Larry) Williams; dear friend Pam Hines; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her son Jay Holm; sister Sandra (Norm) Boutilier; and brother William (Sally) Soderstrom.
A celebration of life will be held at United Way in Albuquerque on Saturday, January 17 at 3:00 PM. Additionally a service will be held at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, Michigan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to United Way of North Central New Mexico. Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Holm family.
