Kay Lorraine Gleeson

She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1947 to Lynn and Patricia Kindy. Kay attended the University of Michigan, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and a student in the Education Department. U of M was also where she met the love of her life, James Gleeson. They both graduated and were married in December 1969 in Ann Arbor.

Kay spent years teaching, substitute teaching, and volunteering while raising two daughters, Shannon and Dana. Later in life, she was promoted to grandmother of Kate, Emma, and Erin.

After they retired, Kay and Jim were able to split their time between S.E. Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, where she spent time entertaining many guests as well as her extended family and friends. She enjoyed kayaking, spending time on the family pontoon boat, s’mores, and fires in her chiminea.

A celebration of life and a spreading of her ashes will take place this coming summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Gleeson family.
