Elinore P. Sekulich
Elinore P. Sekulich passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion to family, and cherished memories.
Elinore is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen Sekulich. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters Brenda Muhlenbeck (David), Bonnie Harrison, and Penny Wachholz (Matthew). Elinore was also a caring stepmother to Brad Sekulich (Rose), Mark Sekulich (Natalia), and Amy (Kevin) Harrington. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Michael Sekulich, and her stepson-in-law, Kevin Harrington. Elinore was preceded in death by her cherished brothers, William Hanson and Richard Hanson, and is survived by her loving sister, Lori Hardwick, and sister-in-law Lenore Hanson. She was a proud and loving grandmother known to all as “Grandma Ellie” to Danielle (Mike) Fidler, Denise (Reilly) Mitchell, Jamie Muhlenbeck, Ashley (Jeff) Comstock, Timothy (Lauren) Muhlenbeck, Brad Miller, Cody Miller, Ross Miron, Alec Miron, Bradley (Brooke) Sekulich, Anna (Joel) Korth, Abigail Harrington, and Baily Harrington. Her grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Elinore was a dedicated and accomplished professional, working in various roles such as bookkeeper, payroll clerk and executive secretary for over 40 years. Throughout her career, she served various organizations, including UPCAP, UAW office and the State of Michigan. She was known for being exceptionally organized, dependable, and a hard worker.
Elinore loved playing cards and taking a ride to the casino with her husband Steve. She was known for her competitive spirit and quick wit. She found great joy in cooking delicious meals and hosting family holiday gatherings. Elinore also enjoyed watching sports, playing golf and bocce ball, dancing and traveling across the country.
She carried herself with grace and style and was rarely seen without her hair done nicely, signature lipstick and a perfectly matched pair of earrings to complete every outfit. Above all else, her family meant everything to her, and she took pride in being surrounded by those she loved most.
Elinore will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the deep care she showed to everyone around her.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River. Funeral services honoring Elinore will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mike Markwell officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the family.
