ROCKFORD – Chris Arthur Wuellner, 72, of Rockford, MI, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at his home with his wife at his side.
Chris was born on April 10, 1953 in Escanaba, son of Earl and Ruth (Herbst) Wuellner. He attended Escanaba High School and graduated in 1971. He attended Northern Michigan University to earn a bachelor degree and graduated in 1975.
Chris married the former Linda Zagel on August 31, 1985 and they were blessed with 40 years of marriage.
After graduating from NMU, Chris worked as a substitute teacher for 2 years and then went on to work for the Mead Paper Corporation. He worked there for 33 years and retired in August of 2011.
Some of Chris’ hobbies included deer hunting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, driving his Pontiac Solstice, and spending time out at the cottage with family. Chris was also an avid U of M and Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; stepchildren, Sandy (Gary) Buchanich, Chad (Ellie) Zagel, and Jonathan (Alicia) Zagel; step grandchildren, Steven Zagel, Linus and Matilda Zagel; sister, Susan Rawson; niece, Lisa Schwichtenberg; nephews, Steve Wasechek and Jacob Wasechek; and great nieces and nephews.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth Wuellner and sister, Cherie Schwichtenberg.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 30th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.
Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
