GLADSTONE — Wayne Clarence Fournier, 79, of Gladstone, passed away Friday morning at his home, December 12, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 11, 1946 in Rock, MI, son of Clarence and Dorothy (Johnson) Fournier.
Wayne enlisted into the Army on February 2, 1966 and served honorably until January 23, 1968. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars, Army Commendation Medal, and the Superior Public Service Medal. He was a member of the Legions and VFW.
Following his honorable discharge from the military, Wayne returned home and married the former Marilyn Lanaville on February 27, 1969 in Escanaba.
Wayne was a career logger, retiring in 2001. During their retirement years, Wayne and Marylin lived in Arizona for 12 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending his time fishing and four-wheeling. He loved being with family and hosting gatherings. Wayne was also fond of old westerns and loved to watch them.
Among survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn; two sons, Dennis (Diana) Fournier of Escanaba and Daniel (Rebecca) Fournier of Menominee; grandchildren, Alanna Whitney, Makenzye Bruce, Dawson Bruce, Nolan Fournier, and Liam Fournier; and siblings, Mary Trombley, Bev (Ernie) Beauchamp, and Jack Fourier; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Shirley (Bill) Fick, Clarence Fournier, and Dorothy Fournier; and brother in law, Bill Trombley.
Burial will take place in Baldwin Township Cemetery at a later date.
