Robert D. Doran

Robert was born December 9, 1951 in Escanaba, the son of James and Margaret (Morin) Doran. He was the youngest of 7 children. He was an Escanaba High School graduate, class of 1971. He was united in marriage to Janet Destrampe in Escanaba on October 25, 1986. He worked as a machinist at Andex Industries for 39 and half years, retiring in 2013 at the age of 63. He was a loving, caring man. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and traveling with his family and was an avid Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings fan. His beloved dog Olivia, and cat Newton were a great source of comfort and support during his illness.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Rob Doran, Jody (Scott) Megenuph, Crystal LaPine, Gregory Jensen, Alan (Sheryl) Jensen; several grandchildren, one great grandson; brother, James (Susan) Doran,; sister, Judy Ottensman and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda LaPine, his parents, brother, Mike Doran and sisters, Gloria, Rita Lindblad and Deloris Dobson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba with a Closing Prayer at 3:00 PM.
