Michelle Raven Jackson
WILSON – Michelle “Meshelle” Raven Jackson (Niimiiwasnodaykwe), 39, of Wilson, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at her home.
She was born on April 26, 1986 in Marquette, daughter to Joseph Thomas Migwanabe and Noreena Mae (Meshigaud) Migwanabe. As a young girl, her family moved to Wilson and she attended Bark River School. Meshelle graduated from Nah Tah Wahsh School, class of 2004.
On March 26, 2012, the former Michelle Migwanabe married Jared Jackson in Escanaba.
Meshelle worked a variety of jobs in the service industry over the years, including a clerk at the front desk of the Island Resort and Casino. Her favorite desire and love was being a wife and a stay-at-home mom. She loved being present for her family. She went to cosmetology school and was able to help clients at her home, while taking care of her family.
She loved crafting, cooking, playing Fortnite, going to concerts, and drumming. Meshelle was also an exceptional dancer while participating in many tribal pow wows.
Among survivors include her mother, Noreena; husband, Jared Jackson of Wilson; children, Alaura Rowley-Jackson, Kaylee-Lee Red Bear, and Arias Jackson; siblings, Emma Migwanabe, Michelle (David) Kowalewski, and Cody and Sara Meshigaud; many step brothers and sisters; Auntie Bonnie and Uncle Gus Meshgaud; and nephew and niece, Kale and Jasmine Kowalewski; and many cousins.
In addition to her dad, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joshua Jackson.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 30th beginning at 4 p.m. (Eastern time) at the Hannahville Community Center. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday, December 31st at 10 a.m. with burial to take place in the Hannahvillle Cemetery at noon.
