Laurie J. VanDrese

Laurie was born on March 14, 1944 in Ypsilanti, Michigan the daughter of Lawrence and Frances (Hicks) Shirk. Laurie was united in marriage to Kenneth VanDrese on November 28, 1965 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock.

Laurie is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Jay) Crafton of Indiana; a son, Craig (Tracy) VanDrese of Michigan; brothers Mike (Chris) Shirk of Wyoming, Larry Shirk of Florida and Jim Shirk of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ken, Laurie is preceded in death by a son, Jeff VanDrese; brothers, Paul and Shane Shirk; and sisters Irma Anderkin, Peggy Brown, Suzanne and Sharon.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A luncheon will take place at the Community of Christ Church in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the VanDrese family.
