Carole A. Gabrielson

Carole was born March 29, 1930 in Gladstone, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Thorbahn) Friedgen. She was raised in Escanaba and attended and graduated from the Escanaba High School. Carole was united in marriage to Melvin Gabrielson. She worked as a secretary for Geranger’s Heating and a bookkeeper with First Bank for many years. She was a member of All Saints Church in Gladstone and enjoyed sailing with Melvin and her family. She was a great mother and grandmother and was always very supportive. Carole also enjoyed watching old Western movies, sewing and making costumes, socializing and volunteering at the reception desk at the St. Francis Hospital.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Lauri (Robert) DeCamp of Gladstone; grandchildren, Matt Voss, Emily Slabaugh, Katie (Blake) DeCamp and Stephen (Ariel) DeCamp; great grandchildren Lucas, Nathan, Ella and Evie; son-in-law Todd Voss, sister-in-law, Nancy Friedgen and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, her parents, her daughter, Julie Voss, her brother, Joseph Friedgen and her sister, Marilyn Pavloski.

Visitation for Carole will be held on Friday, December 19 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass off Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church in Gladstone with Fr. Marty Flynn officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Carole will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
