Gladys M. Krokstad

ESCANABA — Gladys M. Krokstad, 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the early morning of Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Allouez Senior Living.

Gladys was born on June 17, 1937 in Escanaba, the daughter of Henry and Prudence (Guindon) Couillard. She attended and graduated from Gladstone Area Schools.

Gladys was a beautiful water color painter. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time gardening. She mostly enjoyed feeding the wildlife that came into her yard. She also loved her cat, she was never without one. Being an amazing mother also meant she was a great cook and could make the best pies.

Gladys was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Gladys is survived by: daughters: Kathy (Jerry) Sinnaeve of De Pere, WI and Nancy (Tom Challe) Krokstad of Green Bay, WI. brothers: Don (Darlene) Couillard of Gladstone, Dale (Cathy) Couillard of Perkins, and Harland (Lynn) Couillard of Gladstone, sister: Flo Kalishek of Gladstone, and sister-in-law: Pat Couillard, 2 grandchildren: John (Christianna) Dugan and Ryan (Kayla) Dugan of Green Bay, WI, 2 great grandchildren: Adealyn and Millie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by brother, Henry Couillard, brother-in-law, Jim Kalishek son-in-law, Mike Dugan and nephew, Tim Kalishek.

Family will receive friends on Monday December 1, 2025 from 12:30 until 2:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A funeral service will follow visiting hours at 2:30 with Deacon Mike Labeau officiating. Gladys will be laid to rest in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
