Zachary Steven Froelich

ESCANABA — Zachary “Zach” Steven Froelich, 27, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home. He was born March 11, 1998 in Escanaba, son to Steven and Cheryl (Mattson) Froelich. Zach graduated from Escanaba High School then continued his education at Bay College and graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry and Sustainability. Zach was employed with Bosk Corporation. He was passionate about sustainable forestry, being in the woods and observing all wildlife. He loved cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cleveland Browns and most of all the Detroit Tigers. Zach loved his family very much including his two cats, Ulysses and Cinnamon.

Among survivors include his parents, Steven and Cheryl Froelich of Escanaba; brother, Robert A. Froelich of Rhinelander, WI; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Margo Phalen of Escanaba; aunts and uncles, David and Shelli Mattson, Lori Gregg, and Rod and Cindy Boucher, all of Escanaba; and cousin, Derek Gregg of Houghton, MI, along with other extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger and Carolyn Mattson and Robert S. Froelich. Zach was a friend to everyone he met, and his light will always shine brightly within all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, and we will always love him more than words can say. A private family celebration of Zach’s life will take place at a later date.
