Russell E. Wolf

BARK RIVER — Russell E. Wolf, 59, of Bark River (Hyde), passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at home with his loving wife at his side.

He was born on November 29, 1965 in Grayling, MI, son of Donald G. and Mary G. (Boone) Wolf. Russell. Russell graduated from Johannesburg-Lewiston High School in 1984.

Russell was a proud Army veteran, who served during the Gulf War from 1984 until his honorable discharge in 1993. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Lapel Button, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Sharpshooter Badge.

On February 24, 2001, Russell married Sandra M. Wolf at First United Methodist Church in Escanaba.

Russell was employed with Snowden Construction for several years and then worked for the Delta County Road Commission until his retirement.

He enjoyed flying his drone, playing video games, and chatting and being with friends and family.

Among survivors include his wife Sandra of Bark River; father, Donald G. Wolf; sisters, Rosemary (Jerry) Hampton and Robin (Brian) Denman; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Sharon Moniowczak of Bark River; brother-in-law, Scott Moniowczak, sister-in-law, Connie Gutierrez; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Wolf.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 27th from 2:00 p.m. until the time of military honors at 3:45 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Christine Bergquist officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Bark River Twp. Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance or OSF Home Health & Hospice.
