Homer Jeff Lancour

He was born October 21, 1957 in Escanaba, son to Joseph Sr. and Shirlee (Vanlerberghe) Lancour. Homer was raised in Flat Rock and graduated from Gladstone High School.

Homer served in the National Guard and worked as a demolitions expert. He later worked as a welder for Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad.

He will be missed on Saturday game night by his brother and friends.

Among survivors include his siblings, Jay Lancour, Jill Plouff, Jeanne (David) Branstrom, James Lancour, and Julie (Perry) PeGan; sister in law, Sherri Lancour; nieces and nephews, David Rumfelt, Chelsea (Luke) Auge, Jessica (Art) Carlson, Michael (April) Branstrom, Jason Branstrom, Charles (Kelly) Branstrom, and Brittney (Eric) Mercier; great nieces and nephews, Kiyleah Rumfelt, Ace Auge, Sophia Carlson, Evelyn and Avery Branstrom, Annie and Sawyer Branstrom, Clara Branstrom, and Dominic, Payton, and Leah Mercier; along with his beloved dogs, Rosie and Murray.

In addition to his parents, Jeffery was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Lancour, Jr.; brother-in-law, Terry Plouff; and nephew, Daniel Rumfelt.

Visitation will take place at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S 13th St, Escanaba, on November 8, 2025 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Prayers and stories about Homer will be shared at 2:00 p.m. The family requests casual wear for the visitation.
