APPLETON, Wis. — Nina L. Hamlin, 91, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia to Thomas and Geraldine Jordan. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter Hamlin, and her sons John Thomas McKenzie and Paul Barry McKenzie. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Mike McKenzie (Wanda) of Gulliver, Michigan, and her daughter, Linda Curran (Shawn) of Appleton, Wisconsin. Nina’s Legacy also lives on in her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, all of whom brought her great pride and joy. Nina worked for many years as a sales clerk and bookkeeper at Andrea’s Boutique in Escanaba, Michigan before retiring with Peter in Casa Grande, Arizona. She later made her home in Appleton, Wisconsin. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and baking. Her peanut brittle became a treasured treat among family and friends. She also found joy in her Thursday Bible study, playing bridge and shopping.
The family is deeply grateful to Appleton Retirement Community for the kindness and care shown to Nina over the past six years, as well as to the dedicated caregivers at Moments Hospice of Appleton who supported her with compassion in her final days. A private family celebration of Nina’s life will be held at a later date.
