Susan Gertrude Jacques
MACOMB — Susan Gertrude Jacques, age 83, of Macomb, Michigan passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 surrounded by her family. Susan was born on May 30, 1942 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Arthur and Olive Crose. She graduated from Escanaba High School and a short time later she met the love of her life, Norbert Jacques, and moved to Washington, Michigan, where they raised a family together.
Susan had an incredibly kind, nurturing and generous soul. She was a person who gave of herself completely, whether it was giving her time, love, understanding or empathy. And she was a survivor, battling breast cancer multiple times. Susan adored her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and had a house filled with pictures of them at every age. She also enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, and doing puzzles. She had a well known love for elephants which resulted in her family gifting her with a prolific collection of elephant gifts which filled her home. But above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and most recently great-grandmother, which brought her so much happiness and pride.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Norbert; three of her four children: William and Donald Jacques, and Pamela (James) Thomas; daughter-in-laws, Stacy and Mimi Jacques; 7 grandchildren: Dexter (Danielle), Travis, Cameron (Rebecca), Mitchell, Ava, Emma Jean and Charlotte; great-grandson, Jettson; siblings, Betty (Mike) Boucher and Jeffrey (Nancy) Crose and their families. She is preceded in death by her son John; her parents Arthur and Olive Crose; brother, Arthur “Bud” Crose and sister Mary (Terry) MacPhetridge.
