Paulette O’Rourke

ESCANABA — It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Paulette O’Rourke, who left us peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the age of 74. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Paulette touched countless lives with her warmth, strength, and unshakable kindness.

Born on June 18, 1951, Paulette brought joy and light into the world from the very beginning. Her life was one of quiet strength, deep compassion, and a giving heart. She was known for her generous spirit, her quick wit, and her ability to make those around her feel truly seen and loved.

Paulette had a lifelong passion for helping others. She devoted many hours to volunteering in her community, always offering her time and energy wherever it was needed most. Whether it was lending a hand at local shelters, organizing community events, or simply being a steady presence for those going through hard times, Paulette gave freely and without hesitation. Her selflessness and compassion left a lasting impact on all who were lucky enough to know her.

She was deeply devoted to her family and took immense pride in the people they became. Her love was a steady, comforting presence-whether through her wise advice, her homemade meals, or her unwavering support in times both joyful and difficult.

Paulette was preceded in death by her husband, Bill O’Rourke – a proud Marine whose strength and character shaped the foundation of their family. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and deep love.

She is survived by her loving children, Ryan, Kathleen, and Dee. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew, Star, Jacob, Michael, Reagan, Ruby, Kennedy, and Casper; and the proud great-grandmother of Linkin and Vextin. Her legacy lives on in each of them-in their humor, their kindness, and their strength.

A memorial will be held at Gardens of Rest at a later date. Family and friends will be notified once arrangements are finalized, and all who knew and loved Paulette are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Paulette’s name to the American Cancer Society, continuing her legacy of service and kindness.

Though she is no longer with us in person, Paulette’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
