William Lawrence Kwarciany

ESCANABA — William Lawrence Kwarciany, 78, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 after battling pulmonary fibrosis for 4 1/2 years.
Bill worked for 30 years at Mead Paper and was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Army. Bill had an impact on all who knew him. He would help anyone, with anything, at any time. He was skilled in so many areas of life, a hard worker, a perfectionist. Bill had the best laugh, and although he did not listen to music much, Cher, believe it or not, was his favorite artist. Bill enjoyed spending time having coffee with friends, flying his power parachute, riding his motorcycle, working on projects, golfing, hunting, spending winters in the Villages, Florida, but mostly being on his family farm and camp. His camp was a source of pride, joy, and comfort.
Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Diana; daughter, Sheryl (Jay) Rains; son, Bill Kwarciany,
Jr.; stepdaughter, Becky (Phil) Noble; stepson, Ed (Brenda) Adiska; sister, Rhonda (Steve)
Beneke; brothers, Russell and Richard (Lori) Kwarciany; five granddaughters; Taylor, Lindsey
Rose, Harper, Lauryn, and Lindsey Grace; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Marietta “Mitzi” Kwarciany and brothers, Stanley “Butch” Kwarciany and Ronald Kwarciany.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The Delta County Veterans Council will have military honors at 1 p.m. to be followed by sharing of remembrances by family and friends.
