POWERS — Jean Marie LeBoeuf, 94, Powers, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Emmons Adult Foster Care in Bark River, with loving family by her side. She was born on April 8, 1931 in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Finnerty) Demsky. On January 14, 1950 she married Kenneth “Ken” R. LeBoeuf at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding. They were married for 69 years before his passing in 2019.
Jean attended Dominican Catholic High School until 1946. Then upon her family moving to Powers and she graduated from Powers-Spalding High School in 1949. She was a member of St. John Neumann Parish. In her earlier years she taught CCD and sang in the church choir. Jean traveled along with her husband for his work and lived in Alaska and Washington. She loved to shop, especially with her daughters, and was an avid Michigan State basketball fan. Her Catholic faith was very important to her and rarely missed a day saying her rosary.
She is survived by her four daughters: Linda (Fred) Benoit, Jeanette Nowack, Donna (Dale) Piche and Christy (Michael) Green, four grandchildren: Fred Benoit II, Nikki Benoit, Scott Nowack and Ashley Van Sloten, two great-grandchildren: Matthew Nowack and Sophia Benoit. Amongst all her cherished nieces and nephews are very special nieces and nephews are: Patti Wieciech, Beth and Richard Gauthier, and Sherry and Elwood Winn.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2019, sisters: Harriet LaCoursier and Bernice Wieciech, and a son-in-law: Gerald “Jerry” Nowack
Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. CST on Tuesday, May 20 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at church with Fr. Antony John officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gayle and her staff at Emmons Adult Foster Care for their wonderful and loving care given to Jean. Also the compassionate care from UP Health System Home Care and Hospice.
