Heather L. Plimpton

GLADSTONE — Heather L. Plimpton, 45, of Gladstone, passed away the morning of May 5, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer.
She was born in Escanaba on December 2, 1979, daughter of David Chester and Betty Marie (Boch) Palmgren. She was raised in Gladstone but attended Escanaba High School and graduated in 1998.
After spending New Years Eve of 1999 in New York City, Heather knew she needed to live there. After graduation, she moved to New York in February of 2000 and was the executive assistant for Leed Weld and Co., Lehman Brothers Inc., and Apollo Global Management. She also spent three years in San Francisco working for Granite Ventures.
In 2015, Heather returned home to the U.P. and then married Robert Allen Plimpton on September 7, 2016 in Marquette.
Heather enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, listening to music, collecting crystals, and shopping, or as she called it, “retail therapy.” She also enjoyed going out to eat and traveling, especially to her favorite area, Au Train. She was a lover of animals, including her chickens. Heather also devoted her time as a board member for the Delta County Animal Shelter.
Among survivors are her loving husband, Robert; daughters, Hailey and Taylor Plimpton; parents, David and Betty Palmgren; mother-in-law, Beverly Plimpton; and many other loving family members and friends. Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Margaret Boch and Ken and Jacqueline Smith; and her father-in-law, Robert Joseph Plimpton.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 10, at Grace Church, 528 28th Street Gladstone, MI 49837 beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. A luncheon will take place following the service. Heather will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery.
