Eileen Servant

ESCANABA — Eileen Servant, 97, passed away on March 1, 2025 at OSF Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Eileen was the daughter of John and Esther (Nelson) Foster born on January 30, 1928 in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. This is where she discovered her love for piano and at the age of 13, she became the organist for Salem Lutheran Church in Peshtigo.

Eileen married William C. Servant of Escanaba on November 7, 1947. After their wedding the couple moved to Escanaba where Eileen began her career as a legal secretary, a profession that she continued when they moved to Illinois and Colorado. When they returned to Escanaba, she continued her career, and they started their family.

Eileen was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she was an active member of Morning Messenger Circle, Altar Guild and the Funeral Committee. She was an original Member of the Escanaba Eagle Auxiliary and was elected their first and only Queen in 1948. Eileen enjoyed many facets in her life including bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and the casino. She loved traveling with her brothers John and Bob, but nothing made her happier than cheering on the Packers with a house full of family and friends.

Eileen is survived by her children, William F. Servant, Richard (Karen) Servant, Dianne (Doug) Gartland; grandchildren, Tammy (Matt) Holland, Stephanie (Kenny) Servant, Beth Servant, and Ann Marie Servant, Kacey (Jason) Lofquist, Jake (LeAnne) Gartland; four great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews and special friends, Dan and Margo Phalen.
