Richard John Niemisto
DICKSON, Tenn. — Richard John Niemisto, 80, of Dickson, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1943, in Ishpeming to the late Toivo and Betty Niemisto. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Jean Niemisto and granddaughter, Shantel Niemisto.
Richard graduated from Saint Paul High School in Negaunee, in 1961. After high school, he joined the United States Navy for two tours of duty and was honorably discharged in 1967. He attended Badger Business School and Northwestern Michigan University for Business and Accounting. Richard retired in 2016, from the State of Tennessee.
Richard is survived by his children, Kimberly Niemisto, Vicki (Rusty) Lind, and Darrell (Tina) Beaver; grandchildren, Shannon Niemisto, Jaden Mekediak, Brandon Lind, Josh Lind, Beverly Haskins and Kim Beaver; two beloved great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Elijah Searby and other great-grandkids; his brother, Dan (Rita) Niemisto and his sister, Bonnie (Richard) Hemmila.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Gardens of Rest.
