GRAND RAPIDS — Patricia J. (Luft) Kasbohm, affectionately known as Patty by her loved ones, passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 59, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Patty was born on April 17, 1965, in Escanaba, Michigan, and throughout her life, she carried with her the charm and resilience that is characteristic of being a Yooper.

Patty’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her career, and her passions. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Kasbohm, who stood by her side in every chapter of their journey together. Patty’s memory will also be cherished by her caring siblings: her sisters Carol, Rita, and Jenny; and her brothers Jim (Maradee) and Larry (April). Patty’s role as an aunt was one she took to heart, treating her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, and she held a special place in the hearts of her extended relatives. Her love and influence extended beyond her immediate family, touching all who knew her. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Theresa Luft and her siblings Shirley, Joe, and Jerry, whose memories she honored throughout her life.

Professionally, Patty was a beacon of compassion and leadership as the Director of Operations for Community Based Services at Hope Network. Her tireless work and commitment to serving others helped countless individuals find support, care, and a sense of community. Patty was more than a colleague; she was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to everyone who worked alongside her. Her legacy within the organization is one of kindness, dedication, and an enduring belief in the potential of every person.

Patty’s interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of her favorite books. Her love for golf provided her with both leisure and challenge, and she could often be found on the green, perfecting her swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Patty’s passion for the Green Bay Packers was well-known; she was a devoted fan who celebrated each victory with fervor and faced every defeat with unwavering loyalty.

Travel was another of Patty’s joys, and she seized every opportunity to explore new and historical places. Her annual quest to find the country’s best 4th of July fireworks celebrations became a beloved tradition, reflecting her sense of wonder and her love for the spectacular displays that light up the sky in a symphony of color and sound.

Patty’s life was a testament to the beauty of embracing every moment with humor and grace. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Patty’s journey through life was a reflection of the values she held dear: love, family, friends, service, and the pursuit of happiness.
