Lee G. Ferrier

PERKINS — Lee G. Ferrier, 80, passed away on Monday evening, October 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
Lee was born on November 28, 1943 in Troy, Mich. the son of Careld and Mary Frances (Klepetsanis) Ferrier. He attended and graduated from Perkins High School, and then enlisted into the United States Navy in 1961. He proudly served for over 20 years. He was a member of the Tin Can Navy, Company Commander and Signalman on several destroyers. He retired in 1982.
Following the Navy, Lee was vital in getting Emergency Services implemented in Delta County, as the emergency management coordinator. He also worked at the Veneer Plant and most recently the Gladstone Golf Course.
Lee was united in marriage to Dava Harris on July 1, 1972 in Perkins.
Lee was truly a jack of all trades, serving on the Mid Peninsula School Board and board of review in Baldwin Township. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Baldwin Township.
In addition to his loving wife, Dava, Lee is survived by: son, Nathan Ferrier of Perkins: daughters, Nicole Boston-Marsh of Rock, Natasha (Steve) Dedic of Rock, Natanya Ferrier of Rock; two brothers, Bob (Shawn) Ferrier and Bruce Ferrier; grandchildren; Erin Dedic, Corey Boston-Marsh and Ryan Boston-Marsh; sister-in-law, Cathy (Dale) Couillard; nieces, Shelly (Dean) Forslund and Cindy Couillard-Wicklund.
In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Randy and Jeff.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 1 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A closing prayer will conclude the visitation at 2 p.m. and military honors will be presented graveside at Perkins Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Ferrier family.
