Timothy Thomas Ferrari
LEADVILLE, Colo. — Our son, brother and uncle, Timothy Thomas Ferrari, 38, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024. He had said if couldn’t beat his stage 4 melanoma, he would be okay because he would get to see his grandparents again. Although the hurt is so deep for all of us, we know he is enjoying his new home with Jesus.
Tim was an adventurer and lived his dream by owning his own home in the mountains in Colorado. He graduated from Escanaba High School and then NMU with his bachelors and masters degrees from Northern Michigan University. He worked as a contractor and took great pride in his work, only stopping when a job was done right. Tim loved snowboarding, biking, fly fishing, jeeping, cooking, building his own campers that he would then take into the mountains, music and working on his home. He was a “work hard, play harder” type of guy and inspired those around him. He gained many friendships while in Colorado and was always helping those friends out. As a landlord, Tim was understanding and compassionate for those struggling to make ends meet. Throughout his life, Tim never complained, especially after his diagnosis and throughout treatment. His strength and determination never wavered throughout his battle with cancer.
A part of Tim’s ashes will be spread by his friends, throughout his favorite areas in Colorado. The remaining will be buried with his loving grandparents, so all cherished each other so very much.
Tim is greatly missed by his parents, Jeff and Ellanie (Ballas) Ferrari; sisters, Tiffany and Scott Turner, Teegan and Tyler Ernest; brother, Tyson and Christie Ferrari; his cat Beast, and his nephews and nieces who looked up to him so much. He is with Jesus along with his grandparents, Tom and Karen Klaus and John and Joyce Ferrari, and his aunt Janet “The Nerd” Larson.
Run free my handsome son and maybe even try some mystics with “The Nerd” and working on the tractor with grandpa. We love you and miss you deeply until we see you again. What a joyous day that will be!
A celebration of life for Tim will be held at the place that started his love for snowboarding, the Gladstone Ski Hill on Thursday, September 26 from 3:30 – 4:30, with a light dinner to follow. Any donations will go towards a yearly ski hill pass for a family in need at the Gladstone Ski Hill. Donations can be sent to the Gladstone City Hall, Gladstone, MI 49837, c/o Wendy Taavola.
