Joseph E. Frappier
ESCANABA — Joseph E. Frappier passed away August 22, 2024 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. He was born in Escanaba, Michigan on March 2,1942 to the late Vivian (nee Powers) and Telesphore Frappier. He honorably served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a radio operator aboard the USS Hancock.
After the service, Joe worked in sales for many years in Green Bay. He worked for the medical supply company Medix. He loved the Green Bay Packers and rarely missed watching their games. Joe was transferred to Escanaba and there he became involved with the Elks.
Joe was a proud member of the Elks Lodge #354 in Escanaba. He loved the fundraising and service of the organization. He eventually became the Exalted Ruler.
He was a devout Catholic. He attended St Anne’s Grade School in Escanaba where he was an altar boy. His faith guided him through out his life. He went to Holy Name High School and lettered in multiple sports. He was supportive of the youth sports and announced at the high school football games. Escanaba had a very special place in his heart.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother Jack Frappier. He is survived by his older sister Beverly Schaeffer, and younger sister Susan Frappier and many nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Joseph will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin on September 12 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Escanaba Elks #354. 510 Ludington Street, PO Box 354 Escanaba, MI.
