Sun Hui Boudreau
ESCANABA — After a courageous battle with cancer, Sun Hui Boudreau, 72, of Escanaba, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024 at Christian Park Health Care Center.
She was born in Daegu, South Korea, daughter to Myung Ryeol Seo and Su Keum Chu. Sun Hui graduated from Dongduk Girls High School in Seoul in 1970. On November 9, 1973, Sun Hui married the love of her life Dale Boudreau at St. Anne’s Church in Escanaba. Together they shared 50 years of love and adventures.
Sun Hui was a proud mother to her two sons and an even prouder grandmother to her two grandchildren. She was always talking about Brett and Abbie and their latest accomplishments. Most of the wall space in her home is dedicated to pictures of her beloved grandkids.
For over 20 years, she worked as a waitress at Jade Garden Restaurant, where she was known by her American name Jenny. She had an infectious laugh and smile to share with everyone she met.
Sun Hui loved shopping for clothes and shoes, gardening, cooking, and taking pictures — especially family photos. Some of her most treasured Christmas gifts were calendars made from pictures of her grandchildren. She had a knack for making plants and flowers grow and loved cooking Korean dishes for her family and friends. If you were lucky enough to have enjoyed her egg rolls you know what I mean!
Sun Hui is survived by her husband Dale of Escanaba; sons, Kevin (Carrie) Boudreau of Gladstone and Chad Boudreau of Bark River; grandchildren, Brett Boudreau and Abbie Boudreau; and siblings, Jae Saeng Seo, Jung Hwa Seo, Dong Bo Seo, Mal Seon Seo, and Jung Bo Seo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jung Ju Seo, Jung Sil Seo and Bo Kong Seo.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Stephen Cowen officiating.
