LeVonne (Bonnie Flannery) Marilyn Yelland

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. — LeVonne (Bonnie Flannery) Marilyn Yelland, 85, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. LeVonne was born on July 6, 1938, in Clearwater Lake, Wis. to her late parents, Perry and Edith Flannery of Gladstone, Mich.

LeVonne graduated from Escanaba High School in 1956, and her first employer was Birds Eye Veneer Co., where she spent two years as payroll clerk and secretary, and married Robert Yelland on September 20, 1958. The newlyweds then traveled to Alaska via automobile where Robert was in the military stationed in Fort Greely. They moved back to Escanaba where they raised their children. LeVonne was a member of Assembly of God church in Escanaba and Grace Church in Gladstone, Michigan She sang in the choir, also solos and taught children’s Sunday School.

The Yelland family relocated to northern Illinois in 1986. LeVonne took employment with Brookshore Lithographers, Inc. as executive assistant to the president; also was employed by Lehigh Press as executive assistant to CEO and president and worked until age 65 and retired. After retirement, she moved to Loves Park, Ill., and worshiped at First Evangelical Free Church. The last few years of her life, LeVonne resided at Azprira Place of Lake Zurich, Ill.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Perry and Harold Flannery, and sister, Margaret Engelhardt of Illinois. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Dean) Engelhardt of Illinois, Lance (Diane) Yelland of Illinois, and Lana (Dave) LaBonte of Michigan. She was a wonderful MeMe to nine grandchildren; Ryan (Jamie) Engelhardt, Nathan (Julie) Engelhardt, Jordan (Lindsey) Engelhardt, Lauren (Stivi) Gjini, Marissa Vuksan, Erin (Steve) Meintz, Jared (Alexis) Vuksan, Justin (Amanda) Yelland, Braeden (Jessica) Yelland; and 16 great-grandchildren, Bryson and Addison Engelhardt, Logan, Leif, Eleanor, and Asher Engelhardt, Landon, Caleb and Leilah Engelhardt, Ezra and Evora Gjini, London Yelland, and Braxton and Brielle LeVonne Yelland, and Jude and Elliot Meintz.

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life Ceremony, where we will recall and share all of the special memories of our mom, MeMe, and Great MeMe until we see her once again.
