Laura Grenier Johnson
GLADSTONE — Laura Grenier Johnson, of Gladstone, was called to take her place at the side of God and her beloved husband Butch “Clarence” Johnson on Sunday, June 2, 2024 with family by her side at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Laura was born on September 28, 1948, in Escanaba, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Fayhey) Grenier.
Anyone who knew Laura knows she was tough, stubborn, sassy, but most of all, she had a huge heart. She spent 20 years as a custodian for the Gladstone School District and she loved being there for the kids. Laura loved her fur babies. Her favorite was her dog, Jethro Joseph who she imagined was with her up until the end. The highlight of her life was spending time with her grandkids. She would take them to the zoo, the beach, dye eggs, carve pumpkins and many other activities. She will be missed by so many.
Laura is survived by her children, Angie (Dan Hass) Fargen and Jamie (Amy) Sarasin; brother, Fred Grenier; sisters, Linda (Rod) Phillips and JoAnne Klodt; grandchildren, Gabriella and Tiernan Fargen; Maryann Miller (DJ Sanders) and Rylan Miller; and one great-grandchild, Bryce Koepke; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy; stepmother, Madge Grenier; her husband, Clarence (Butch) Johnson Jr.; brothers, Jerry, David, and Joe Grenier; sisters, Peggy Verbrigghe and Barb Gravelle; her favorite child, her dog Jethro Joseph.
The family would like to thank Bishop Noa Home staff and UP Health Systems Hospice workers for everything they did to take care of Laura. Thank you for all the funny stories that we will be able to cherish forever. You’re amazing people and you really helped in our time of need.
