Gerald J. LaFave

He was born on July 31, 1944 in Escanaba, son to Victor and Fedelia (Lantagne) LaFave. Gerald graduated from Escanaba High School.

On August 1, 1987, Gerald married Diana Sloan in Escanaba.

Gerald worked for 19 years at Harnischfeger as a welder until their closure. Over the years, he also did appliance repair, foundry fork lift operator, and was an organizing representative for United Auto Workers until retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed stock car racing, watching the Green Bay Packers, and woodworking.

Among survivors are his wife, Diana of Escanaba; children, Julie Roshak, Jeff LaFave, Rick LaFave, and Crystal Rodenberg; stepson, Steve Groos; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Art LaFave and Joyce Mattson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Henry LaFave, Clayton LaFave, and Richard LaFave.

In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, no services will be held.
