KINGWOOD, Mich. — Jane Marie Cassell, age 86, of Kentwood, Mich., formerly of Gladstone, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home.

Jane was born on September 27, 1937, in Escanaba, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Enstrom) Jandro. She graduated from Gladstone High School and went on to earn her Associate’s degree as an LPN. Jane was united in marriage to Wayne Cassell on July 20, 1957. Together they spent 66 wonderful years together. Jane ended her working career as an LPN at UP Health System Doctors Park in Escanaba.

Jane enjoyed several hobbies including knitting, basket making, puzzles, and she and Wayne loved to jump in the car and travel. She resided in Gladstone until 1996, when they moved down to Florida. In 2009, they moved back to Michigan to the Grand Rapids area. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Jane is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Cassell; children, Bruce Cassell, Christine (Mike) Mineau, and Linda (Derek) Haan; sister-in-law, Rose Jandro; brother-in-law, George and Maria Cassell; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marvin Jandro.
