Irene Ann Andzejewski

BARK RIVER — Irene Ann Andzejewski, 92, of Bark River, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.

She was born on July 13, 1931 in Perronville, daughter to Valenty and Theodoria (Remiszewski) Adydan. Irene graduated from Bark River-Harris High School.

Over the years, Irene worked with production at Birds Eye, was a retail clerk at Red Owl and Glenn’s Market, and lastly as a deli clerk at Super One Foods until her retirement.

Irene had a contagious personality and smile. She loved people and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will always be remembered for her love of dancing, her favorites being line dancing and polka dancing. She always cherished the time she spent with her family.

She was a long-time resident of Perronville and was very active with St. Michael’s Church before their closure. Irene could always be found cleaning the church, taking care of the altar decorations and always organized the music for the parish picnic.

She currently was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Wells.

Among survivors are her children, Duane (Cheryl) Andzejewski of Perronville and Lynn (David) Greenway of Delafield, Wis.; grandchildren, Tammi LaFave, Cody (Amanda), Cole, and Ethan (Sydney) Andzejewski; great-grandchildren, Delila Rose, Keaton, Qwentin, and Remington; special friend, Dan Madalinski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 2001; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Perronville.
